MRAI reopens 3rd party file library
The previous version of the thrid party user library resulted in a lot of invalid uploads. To prevent incompatible or bad files we have changed the upload procedure. Instead of using a webform, we have developed an upload program. This program works pretty much like MRAIGen. It takes the three base Traffic Tool files and help you generate a valid MRAI Installer file. Then it runs all kinds of tests to make sure threre are no errors. |

MRAI FlightPlans Compiler v1.1 - Open Source released
Today we are happy to announce the release of the MRAI FlightPlans Compiler. By releasing the compiler I hope to get more peoples attention to making AI flightplans. At the same time we would like to ease the workload of fellow AI flightplan developers. The MRAI FlightPlans Compiler is released as public domain and you are free to use and redistribute it any way you want. The full source code (VB5) is also included for further development by other users.
The MRAI FlightPlans Compiler can read any real life airline timetable formatted in special way. Based on the timetable, the compiler finds in a logical way, (dependent on place, time, aircraft and flight number) the best combination of weekly AI flightplans. The compiler calculates the heading and distance between two airports. Based on heading, distance and aircraft type, the compiler calculates the best Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM) cruise altitude suitable for the flight. |

Historic perspective
MRAI started producing freeware AI-routes over 2 years ago for FS2002. We have been delivering an increasing amount of airlines for the seasons of Winter 2002/2003, Summer of 2003, Winter of 2003/2004, Summer of 2004 and now the Winter of 2004/2005, as we have decided to continue our site at full pace for at least another year. Our newly released TrafficViewBoard is also a fine piece of FS-software given to you as freeware after countless hours of programming.
Background
There are expenses with running this site, and we have concluded that we would be better off by letting the community share this burden rather than we should do it ourselves on top of all our work we already do for free. If donations go well, we can potentially also get access to even better data to use on our routes than we have today.
Motivation
We hope you will consider this opportunity, as it will really motivate us to keep spending all this time on the site. You will find the new donate button in the menu to the left here on the front-page shortly.

Traffic View Board version 2.1 is now ready for download. This time I have fixed two major limitations allowing non-weekly and VFR AI flights in the Traffic View Board. I have also added a new "follow com" function that automatically tunes the COM frequency to the frequency used by the AI aircraft you are following. |
Major release day ? 139 updated winter flightplans
Today we start the winter 2004-05 season by releasing 139 fresh and up-to-date AI flightplans. Many of the world?s biggest airlines are covered. These files set a new MRAI record in quantity and speed. All AI flightplans are made by MRAI standard of high quality and accuracy. With the MRAI Install Wizard, the installations of the new AI flightplans are as easy as one-two-three. Our library of AI flightplans has now grown to be one of the largest available for FS2004 (FS2002).

Traffic View Board v2.0 - Released
Our very popular AI view gauge file, Traffic View Board, has been upgraded to version 2.0. Many bugs have been fixed and several new features added. Some of them are:
- No more dancing aircraft when you switch between views or disable the follow function.
- You can now follow aircraft even if you don't have the board visible.
- New invisible model using correct view distance in spot-view.
- New airport filter function that allow you to select the active airport.
- A new database file including airline and airport information.
- Because of the new database, airports are show as IATA codes and city instead of ICAO code.
- New feature "Flight Information"-view. You can get detailed information on any flight.
- Two new status fields ?Short final? and ?Go around? added. |

Traffic View Board updated - FSUIPC issue fixed
For some reason I forgot to include the FSUIPC access key when I compiled the gauge file. This caused the Traffic View Board not to work unless you had a registred version of FSUIPC. This new and updated version integrates a FSUIPC access key that I have got from Pete Dawson (Thank you Pete!). This allows the Traffic View Board to run properly on systems that have an ungregistred version of FSUIPC installed.
I have also fixed the departure/arrival time issue so the times are shown correctly and not as a strange negative decinal number. :) |
Traffic View Board released as is
Work on Traffic View Board started in March this year. After banging my head against the wall for months, I finally managed to map the user aircraft position to an AI aircraft. When the main features were made, I had all my exams coming up. I eventually got a whole lot of more important things to do than making a FS gauge file. So, since May, I have not touched the code and I do not expect to continue. Now, I have finally decided to "release" the Traffic View Board "as is", including the source code. |
MRAI Install Wizard updated to verison 1.24
Have you ever got a "run-time 13 error" during a texture installation? Every since the MRAI Install Wizard first was introduced, the texture install function proved to fail in some situations. We have not been able to reproduce this annoying bug, until today! With good help form a user we finally managed to locate the error and fix it. If you have had this problem, go to the installer page and download the upgrade to version 1.24. |

The anticipated Lufthansa release is finally here. Please note that all the Lufthansa Regionals is re-released based on the same week as Lufthansa so you won't risk any duplicate flights. As we have now put them into one package, you'll have to manually delete all the old Lufthansa Regional *.bgl's or you will have duplicate flights. The MRAI installer will not find these old files automatically and ask you to delete them. NB! Cirrus AL will be released as a standalone package and is therefore not included in this release.

Traffic View Board on approach
Many of you may wonder why we have had so little activity on our website the last couple of weeks. The reason is because we have been working hard on a brand new FS2004 gauge file called Traffic View Board. This brand new gauge file will give you full overview of the AI traffic without the need of external programs or modules. A lot of work remains, but when it is finished we believe this gauge will be every AI spotter?s friend.
